BIO
Jake Miller is a photographic artist and illustrator living and working in Jersey City, NJ. He has studied photography and image making at ‘The International Center for Photography’ in New York City, and has photographed people and places all over the world, producing his images as large scale giclee prints and publishing two photo-books.
As an illustrator, he creates vividly colored narratives highlighting the provisionality of culture drawing upon visual schools ranging from cave art to street art to pop art in conjunction with the many value rich symbols of western style capitalism. The narratives are conceived from combining various found photographs with photographs of his own making staged with actors.
He had a solo exhibit of photographs at the 2020 14C art fair, being the only unanimously admitted photographer by jury selection, and has participated in several group exhibitions in the same year.
He is an active member of ProArts Jersey City, serving as a peer review panelist for all new membership applications.
